Information and Cake Care
Here’s everything you need to know before collecting your order. From how to store your cakes to the best way to transport them safely, this page covers all the important bits so your bakes stay looking perfect. You’ll also find details on consultations if you’re planning something special.
Transportation
Please handle all cakes and bakes. Bouquets can be a little top‑heavy, so take extra caution when lifting or carrying them. Always support the box from underneath. For travelling, cakes and bouquets should be held by a passenger or placed flat in the footwell or boot. Never transport them on a car seat, as the angle can cause slipping or damage. During warmer months, keep your car cool and use air conditioning where possible — butter melts, and we want your bakes arriving safely and looking perfect.
Collection
All cakes, cupcakes, and bouquets are freshly prepared for your agreed collection time in Dundonald. Please arrive as close to your slot as possible so your order is at its best. When collecting, make sure you have a flat, clear space in your car ready — the boot or footwell works perfectly. If you need a different collection time outside my normal opening hours, please call and I will do my best to accomodate.
Storage
Keep all cakes and cupcakes out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Cupcakes are best stored at room temperature and should not be refrigerated. They can be left in the box overnight, or kept in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Celebration cakes can be stored in the fridge if its a warm. Take them out around 2 hours before serving so the sponge and buttercream can soften back to room temperature.
Any leftover cake/cupcakes can be wrapped well and frozen for up to 1 month.
